Asian Economics Letters is a quarterly journal that aims to be a “letters” type journal covering all areas of Asian economics, broadly defined. Research on Asian economies has seen significant growth. The resilience of Asian economies to financial and economic shocks, emerging market status, fiscal policy and monetary policy effectiveness, political developments, trade and investment issues, tourism growth, financial and capital market growth, currency management, and housing market growth are some of the many aspects of Asian economic story that is of interest to Asian Economics Letters. With growing interest on Asian economies, there is a need for a letters type journal that becomes a platform for faster dissemination of cutting-edge ideas, preliminary findings, datasets, and practical, policy relevant research. Asian Economics Letters will publish both empirical and theory papers although theory papers should have a clear practical relevance. All economic (and finance) issues relevant to Asian economies will be welcomed by the journal. Asian Economics Letters aims to rapidly disseminate new empirical and/or theoretical insights on any economics and finance issue of relevance to Asia. Particularly welcomed are results from tests of new models and hypotheses; results that are based on refinement of existing models/hypotheses; studies that replicate evidence from the literature; and studies that produce robust outcomes on important models/findings. Papers that challenge existing literature are also welcomed. The journal is keen to publish unique datasets on any issue of interest to Asian economies. Papers that simply replicate what has already been done and known are not welcomed. Asian Economics Letters aims to be multidisciplinary and welcomes papers from economics, finance, and statistics/econometrics. All submissions should be less than 2,500 words all inclusive (tables, figures, and references). While the communication should be concise in the spirit of a letters type paper, the paper needs to contain academic rigor. Asian Economics Letters is an open access journal and does not charge any submission or publication fees. All submissions will be reviewed in the first instance by the Editor-in-Chief and if deemed suitable for the journal, it will be assigned to at least two independent reviewers. Asian Economics Letters aims to have a quick turnover time of up to 4 months between the submission and final decision. Copyright and Permissions: The publisher of Asian Economics Letters, APAEA, is located in Australia and hence all materials published in this journal adhere to the copyright laws of Australia.
